Ranches in Mexico are measured in hectarias. A hectaria is equal to 2.47 acres

Hacienda La Labor Santa Lucia

One of the premier ranches of the Alamos region. 26 kilometers south of Alamos (30 min drive). Dating back to 1755 with a grant from the viceroy of New Spain. Completely fenced within the last year. Named after Saint Lucy, the patron saint of the blind. GPS survey mapping the exact boundaries of the ranch. Carta Inaffectabiladad exists signed by the president of Mexico. 3,470 Hectarias (or 8571 acres). Two new windmills just installed. Three operating wells, two abandoned wells. Dam holding water from a spring providing water 12 months a year. This ranch always has water even when other ranches are dry. Many ancient rock walls (trencheras). Original Hacienda building rebuilt with new roof, outlying defense wall rebuilt (from the Yaqui wars). Garden, 4 hectarias of Milo Maize. 2 Huge Cisterns. Forests of hardwood trees. Running creek below the hacienda. Evidence of 3 huge rock dams from 150 years ago (destroyed in a hurricane). Considerable wildlife exists because of a lack of hunting for many years- deer, mountain lion, bobcats, ringtail cats, peccary, racoons, macaws, green parrots, badgers, skunks, jackrabbits, ocelots, etc. The famous "jumping bean" and a native chili called chiltapen occur naturally on the ranch. There is a Capilla or chapel to the Virgin Mary next to the Hacienda, that the original owner promised the Pope in Rome,  that it would always be open to the people.  Road system throughout the ranch. 200 year old cemetary. Excellent cattle ranch. New transmission line (CFE) passes in front of the ranch, presently connecting the ranch house for electrical power.
